Meet Cordane
Composer, Sound Designer, Recordist, Educator
Cordane is a London-based composer, sound designer, recordist and educator working in film, television, video games, and theatre.
His journey into music and sound began with a solid educational background, having sat ABRSM Theory and Piano Practical examinations as a child. His teens and twenties were heavily spent obtaining relevant degrees from the University of California, San Diego, the Berklee College of Music, and the National Film and Television School. His time at these institutions laid the foundation for a diverse career in the entertainment and art sector.
After studying at Berklee, he started assisting Joris with music preparation and orchestration tasks for the Playstation exclusive video game, “Horizon Forbidden West.” He also provided orchestration support for the Burning Shores DLC, as well as other games like Gotham Knights and Wallander. His work with Joris also extends into the educational realm, helping run workshops at events like the Buma Music in Motion conference in The Netherlands. Overall, he has spent a considerable amount of time with the JdM team helping to enrich lives through music, one way or another.
Outside of his work with Joris, he has also contributed to numerous projects for companies such as the BBC, HBO, the Donmar Warehouse, and the Almeida Theatre, within various music and sound departments. One of his main support roles is with the Music in Secondary Schools Trust (MiSST) charity, where he helps teens develop their composition skills. He enjoys providing guidance and assistance when possible and is willing to utilize my knowledge, skills, and network to help others.
